Rare Book
Inscribed on the flyleaf by one of the 'contemporaries' featured: 'From George Oliver ("Oliver Onions", in continuation of the late Randolph Edgar's bequest, March 1934'. The Edgar bequest of Onions' work was to Harvard College, but there is no sign of this having ever reached the institution - the inscription probably refers rather to Onions' contribution here, which is 'A Note on the Late Randolph Edgar', and discusses the bequest. This copy was latterly in the collection of Peter Eads, bibliographer of H.E. Bates - another of the featured authors. The book takes the form of an introduction by each author to their work, each followed by a tentative bibliography with additional blank pages for future additions. Other authors present include Dorothy M. Richardson, Stella Benson, John Collier, L.A.G. Strong, et al.
