Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Qualitative Nouns in the Pauline Epistles and Their Translation in the Revised Version: A Dissertation Submitted to the Faculty of the Graduate School of Arts and Literature in Candidacy for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy
The qualitative use of nouns is a subject not generally familiar, but one which, in the interests of accurate exegesis, students of the Greek New Testament cannot rightly ignore. Investigation indicates that it has been largely overlooked by both grammarians and commentators. It is hoped that the present treatment, confined necessarily to a limited field, may both serve to call attention to an important and neglected topic and lead to the application of the principles therein set forth by workers not only in other parts of the New Testament but also in the wider field of general Greek literature.
