The autograph letter from the author, dated September 1966, presents this copy to a Mr Watson, with apologies for the delay in doing so - Rickword had been struggling to find a copy, and the present example, though lacking its flyleaf, is the only one to have presented itself to him; he directs Watson to a reading of some of them appearing soon on the Third Programme.
