Essay aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften - Schiffstechnik, Schiffsbau, Ozeantechnik, Veranstaltung: Bionik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: The vortex coil effect was identified approximately forty years ago on the fingered bird wing of land-sailing species such as griffon or Milan. In the recent past, solutions for stationary case and generalized phenomenology of the fluid mechanical vortex coil are emerging. The paper deals with the question of how the recent phenomenology of the vortex coil can be applied to future design issues, in particular how non-homogeneous geometries can lead to the formation of harmonic vortex systems.
