Publisher's Synopsis
This is the story of two little hummingbirds who love exploring and adventure. Their exploits sometimes get them into serious life-threatening situations, but they somehow manage to struggle through. Several times they find themselves in situations where they have to use their bravery and skill to help save children and adults from serious dangers. The birds escape a violent waterspout (tornado) on their 500-mile non-stop flight across the Gulf of Mexico, escape from their capture by young children, help save a bull from certain death in a Mexican bullfight, are rescued from a giant spider web, save two children lost in a forest, and save a farm family from a burning home. They also arrange a neighborhood Birdy Derby to see who is the fastest bird in their area and arrange a pool party for more than a dozen neighborhood friends. The book also includes 10 colorful illustrations by a nationally-known artist, a story with incredible photos on how to learn to feed hummingbirds by hand, a story with unique photos about the world's oddest birds, a story of how a family trained a hummingbird to become a household pet, a page in full color of birds from around the world, a page where children can color a drawing of Zippy and Zoomer and much more in 52 pages.
