Zibeline is a romance, featuring Valentine de Vermont, daughter of a fabulously wealthy French-American fur dealer. Upon her father's death, she goes to Paris, where her furs get her the nickname Zibiline, after a rare wild animal. Her husband's fortune originated in an enormous gambling win from a French aristocrat. In Paris she meets a young French military hero whose father was the aristocrat ruined by his losses. She desires to restore his fortune, but winds up giving more than money.
