Yes I can was inspired by President Obama's life story and rise to the office of President of the United States as the first President of color. As an ordinary boy from parents of mixed cultures and races, he stood on hope and belief in himself as a servant of the peoplle. The book's message seeks to inspire young people of mixed cultues and mixed races to freely consider the role of President of the Unoted Stated as they set career goals to serve our country. It stimulates the reader to think about the rich value of cultural diversity of families to our society. It helps the young reader to identify with Presidents as ordinary people when they see that their talents, interests and chosen careers are very much like those men who served as President. Yes I Can encourages readers to believe in themselves, to set lofty goals, and believe that they can accomplish them with hard work by never giving up.
