Troy is the only openly gay kid at his High School. In a small town in rural New Jersey, he lives under the radar, not drawing attention to himself or causing any conflicts. Life takes an unexpected turn when the star athlete, Raiden, quietly asks him out on a date. Navigating his first relationship means the comfort of his self-isolation will come to an end. Although falling in love with his closeted boyfriend is scary and exciting, he learns that navigating a first love can be a challenge. That is, until many people in the town claim to see strange lights in the night sky. When Troy joins his friends to investigate, he witnesses a clash of personalities rather than any extraterrestrial revelations. The mysterious events also paved the way for Barrett, a fellow classmate, to escalate his bullying of Troy. To avoid publicly Outing Raiden, Troy must endure several accounts of emotional abuse and trauma. As the town's secrets start to be exposed, Troy must learn to either fight for himself or fight for love.
