"In 2023, Xu Qu presented a solo art exhibition, "Advent," at the Long Museum (West Bund) in Shanghai, China. This book was produced in conjunction with this exhibition, featuring a collection of the artist's recent and previous works. The first section of the book explores a dialogue between the artist and the reader through Xu Qu's latest works. Several new paintings of the Maze series are presented. These paintings, created from 2022 to 2023, represent a continuation of Xu's conceptual compositions from his early years of study in Germany. The installation Advent contemplates the rapid turnover of industrial civilization in the history of evolution, while the installation Touch, which presents three sets of LCD screens displaying moving images of planets in the solar system that repeatedly collide and rub against one another, invites the viewer to reconsider the relationship between digital images, artificial intelligence, and the ex
