Publisher's Synopsis

Jesse F. Hyde was a man that lived his life to fulfillment. He attended Cornell University in 1913. While working at The Security Mutual Building; he decided to enlisted in WWI - the Cornell Unit 560 U.S.A.A.C. as an Ambulance Driver. One year later on June 12 1918, he left for Europe going through France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. These countries displayed much beauty but unfortunately the war had a way of extinguishing that. He not only had first hand knowledge of this but an 'up front and personal' view of the horrific devastation and destruction. This book allows you to see through his eyes and be grateful not to have walked in his shoes at that time in our history. Later after the war, he married, raised a family and lived in Binghamton, NY. Jesse was well know throughout the Triple Cities and surrounding areas for his long distance walks. Every August (the month he was born), he'd walk the miles equal to his age.
