This selection is divided into three thematic sections -- the body, loss, and death. Each of the these illustrates human longings and the sense of internal betrayal when one's own body turns against itself. This book collects the work of 38 writers, both new and established, in a variety of styles, writing about the effects of AIDS. The disease has affected each writer, through the loss of a friend, a family member or lover, or through living with disease.
