Effective literacy - reading and writing - has been identified as the key to raising standards across all curriculum areas. Write First - a progressive, differentiated programme that deals with writing skills in a cross curricular context - has been developed to encourage confident writers in secondary schools. This supplementary course book series aims to " keep it simple" in order to enable both specialist and non specialists to teach writing for their own subject. It is made up of three full-colour student books, one for each of yeasr 7, 8 and 9, and three photocopiable resource books.
