Publisher's Synopsis
This book on working with minority young people in Norway is based on the authors' research, teaching and social work experiences. The experiences in teaching multicultural students as well as direct social work practice in community settings with minority young people in the Oslo, Ski, and Asker Districts of Norway have all informed the content of this book. The book provides a brief background about the policy and social situation for immigrants in Norway; the individual development and risk factors, and potential behavioural issues of young people. Then empirical research findings are used as basis for discussing support and behaviour management and multicultural education and youth work approaches.
