Publisher's Synopsis
What does it mean to be a person after God's own heart? Is this the honour of the privileged few who are born with holiness in their hormones?
Scripture tells us otherwise. David was described as 'a man after God's own heart' but was both favoured and flawed, blessed and broken, holy and human. The disciples who gathered in the Upper Room after Jesus' ascension were transformed, by the Holy Spirit, from fearful followers into bold men and women who spoke with confidence of God's saving grace. The apostle Peter wrote to persecuted believers to tell them that they were a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
As you journey with David, Peter and a host of others through this edition of WORDS OF LIFE, may you too discover what it is to be a person after God's own heart.
