Publisher's Synopsis
This resource pack focuses on teaching consonant-vowel-consonant words, an area of phonic knowledge introduced in the Year 1 Term 1 objectives of the National Literacy Strategy's Framework for Teaching. It supports the Words and Pictures Plus: CVC Words programmes and can also be used independently.
The activities in the pack help children to develop an awareness of the way in which letters work within words, and a variety of phonic approaches are used to enable children to blend sounds together for reading and to segment words for writing.
