Publisher's Synopsis
"Uniquely, this activity book combines word search with kid-friendly crossword puzzles. Kids get to both search for AND write out the words!"
DEAR PARENTS
IF you are a person who plays word games, you already appreciate the soothing joy that words can bring.
My deepest wish is that this activity book will bring extra peace into your day, with the knowledge that your child is busily enjoying words, away from the screen.
When children play with words, in addition to having fun and practising their hand-eye coordination, they are also developing reading skills. In David Sousa's book How the Brain Learns to Read, he writes: "it is critical for children to develop fluency in word recognition. When they are fluent, word recognition requires far less mental effort, freeing up the child's cognitive capacity for understanding what is read" (Thousand Oaks, CA. 2014, p. 100).
It's been a really challenging time for everyone and I send you blessings and wishes for your happiness, health and peace.
Sincerely,
Andrea Schmidt
