Publisher's Synopsis

This historical novel set in the time of the sixth and seventh century after our era in ancient Ireland describes the life and experiences of young Diarmaid, who comes from an aristocratic family in southwest Ireland. His successful studies in a Druid school are abruptly terminated when he loses his beloved girlfriend Sorcha through the jealousy of the high Druid, and is banned from school. He now roams as a wandering bard through the country, gaining new friends and experiencing many adventures and love stories. His grief for his lost love makes him slide into an unsteady life and he has to go through a lot of suffering and internal development, until he finds the connection to a new Druid community and completes his studies. He also finds a new love, the Christian Etain, but gets entangled in the tension between the old and the new religion, Druidism and Christianity. After he gets severely wounded by his jealous enemies and is just rescued from death by his lover, he realizes in a ritual the correlations with a past life, and the curse which weighs on him, is dissolved. How will he decide now? Will he embark on a search for his first love Sorcha, he can not forget?
