Currently, the entire world has been a happening place for catastrophe and disaster
almost every day. These occurrences of mass demolition regardless of man-made disasters
precipitate a huge loss of funds, resources and lives because of poor planning of government
agencies. Wireless Ad hoc sensor networks have an important role in wireless data transmission
and could be effective in these circumstances. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) make use of
the technologies that could initiate a warning for the immediate protection to set off, whenever
this disaster is likely to happen. In recent times, WSNs have become strong enough to surpass
being simple, solidified and constant monitoring programs and developed as one of the
empowering technologies for disaster management systems.
Traffic control is a critical one particularly in the metropolitan cities of India and
Bangalore is not an exception. Increases in middle-class division contribute considerably to the
ever-increasing number of automobiles in the cities. Congestion on roads ultimately creates
slow-moving traffic flow that increase the time of travel, therefore emerges as one of the most
important issues in metropolitan cities. Due to the lack of highly developed medical systems in
an ambulance, there is the chance for patients to lose their lives. Everything related to medical
treatments reaches a breaking point whenever an ambulance seizes up in intersections. It might
take few hours to clear the congestion and meanwhile, the patient's medical condition might
become a life-threatening one. Lack of effective traffic control and management result in loss
of lives due to ambulances getting jammed in traffics. Where the survival of the patients is
dependent on the fast arrival of the ambulances to healthcare centre [2], an alternate solution
to these issues and challenges is considered necessary.
Wireless sensor networks deploy the technologies that could create an alert for the
instant protection operation to deploy, whenever a disaster occurs. These WSN design serves
the victims immensely in predetermining the basis of the natural and man-made disasters and
providing protective measures certain region is affected by these disasters.
Disaster Management is a huge assignment and it could barely impact any specific locality or setting as speedily they emerge.
It is critically important implement proper management to set effectiveness of planning and
respond appropriately. Usage of the WSN for disaster management has been investigated and
it has been concluded that it is absolutely necessary to have it in operation during disaster
circumstances leads to saving of human lives [
