Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Winchester, Virginia, Historical and Pictorial

Court of the Indian emperor, the father of the great Indian chief, Cornstalk. Cornstalk, no doubt, was born and reared in this famous Shawnee Cabins settlement. The Shawnees are said to have been the most bloody and terrible of Indian warriors and it. Is supposed that the entire valley was held by the powerful con federacy of Shawnees, when the first settlers came here. It was chiefly the Shawnees that defeated Braddock's army in 1755.
