An Australian-born journalist and certifiable golf nut takes an amused and amusing look at how golf is really played - not by superhuman pros or at high-toned country clubs but by you and me and millions like us around the world. We don't play for rich prizes or high-prestige trophies. We play each other for tiny stakes but priceless bragging rights. We cheat by mutual consent, ignore rules that are unfair or just plain stupid, needle each other without mercy and lose our tempers without shame or regret.
