Which day is the Sabbath? Is it Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Islam teaches that Friday is the holy day; Seventh-day Adventists believe it is the seventh day of the week, Saturday; and most Christians believe the Sabbath is Sunday, the first day of the week. Who is correct? In this book, we will look at all three religions and their reasons for their belief in which day is the Sabbath.
In Section One, we look at the Islamic belief of Friday as the holy day, what the Quran and Hadith say about it, and how it is being observed among Muslims. But interestingly enough, the Quran places greater emphasis on the Sabbath rather than Friday! So where did Friday observance come from? This book then traces the origin of Friday and the unfortunate events from Islamic history that led to this day being proclaimed the holy day.
Section Two deals with the Seventh-day Adventist belief that Saturday is the Sabbath, the holy day of the Lord. Are they correct in observing the seventh day as the Sabbath? In this Section, we will analyze the reasons given for the Saturday Sabbath and compare them with what the Bible says. We will also trace the origin of the Sabbath, the attacks on it throughout the ages, and the biblical arguments used to invalidate it.
In Section Three, we will look at the doctrine of Sunday observance and carefully analyze the biblical references used to support it. We will also determine if God changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, and if not, who is responsible for such a change. Then we will compare what the Bible says about Sabbath versus Sunday.
