(1995), an analysis of the failures of British economic policies over the previous seventy years. This book takes as its starting point the 'landmark change' of 1 May 1997, when Labour came into power with an unprecedented majority, and assesses the present government's stated political intentions against the backgrounds both of the global economic climate and of social and constitutional change within the United Kingdom.
