Publisher's Synopsis
Pain is often a prerequisite to victory. Our world is changing, and it sometimes seems as though the light is going out. Our division is deep, and our identities are under constant scrutiny and judgment. Identity seems to be the most commonly sought after thing in our world. I have experience in seeking identity. Whether it be in my skills, gifts, social groups, or even my theological doctrines, I have searched for identity for a lifetime. Our world demands we identify ourselves, but our division makes it impossible to truly hold to our communities while being able to be our true selves. I have felt isolated and ostracized many times before based on how identified myself in different settings. I think others can relate to this. Mental health is often overlooked, and figuring out who we are while suffering in silence seems to have become the norm. May these pages reflect a testament to the gravity of mental health, the complexity of youth, and the joy of the identity we may discover.
