However, she's already weak when a snowstorm hits and wipes out her only chance of finding food. Starving and stranded, she stays the night in a rugged woodsman's cabin.
Rolf's memories are lost to time. After years of dead-end searches, he has finally found peace in the woods. As a trapper and woodsman, he doesn't need much to survive, and the quiet allows him to hide from memories. But when a vampire stumbles into his cabin, it's as if he's awoken for the first time. Her beauty is as entrancing as it is dangerous.
The full moon is coming, and with it, Rolf's shift. He can't escape it any more than Adeline can her bargain. When she discovers that he's the one she's been sent to kill, Adeline is faced with a choice: her freedom, or his life.
