Publisher's Synopsis
Most children throughout the world spend a significant amount of time in a type of school setting from the time they are two years old. The relationships that develop within the walls of these institutions are genuine and significant for the young child as well as the educator. These relationships were brought to an abrupt change in March 2020 as a result of Covid-19, and continue to be affected by it. Even though school has resumed, for many, it looks quite different than it did prior to Covid-19. The book explores those changes and can be a conduit for conversations about how children may be feeling about the impact of Covid-19 in their lives. As the title suggests, the main emphasis is that the masks, the physical distancing and any other pandemic related norm is a temporary adjustment and not a "new normal," as some media channels are referring to this unprecedented pandemic uncertainty. The book offers hope and tranquility to the young reader, reassuring them that what the world is experiencing if for a "little while" and not a permanent change in how we interact with each other, love and live in our communities.
