Publisher's Synopsis
Critical Whiteness Studies have been established in the English speaking academic world as early as the 1980s. Instead of focusing on the racialized Other Critical Whiteness Studies reflect upon the racializing practices of the white subject. The 'translation' of this figure of thought into the German/European context is just beginning. The anthology Wei -- Weisein - Whiteness presents recent research on the relevance of Whiteness at the intersection of race and gender. The authors work within the German context as well as in international contexts and they deal with the subject of Whiteness from different disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary perspectives.
