Detective Dirk just wanted a nice dinner with his girlfriend. Instead he got a dead body. Dirk figures it was a suicide until he gets to the crime scene and finds a young girl who's been killed and dumped in the field. With only her purse to identify her, Dirk works with his friend Hack to research her life. Dirk learns the girl, Janine, was living a double life. She was a librarian by day engaged to a man on a farm who's only goal is to follow the rules the Elder sets. On the weekend, she sold ears at local festivals for LARP-live action role play-events. Dirk also learns she was involved with the police commissioner. Will Dirk risk his career to prove he's involved?They find the link in the case is the governor's wife, who is a part of the whole murder and drug ring. When Dirk's and Hack's girlfriends end up at the Elder's retreat, can they get them out before the Elder hurts them? Will Dirk follow through on his threat to kill the man if he does hurt her?
