The residents of Whisper Creek are preparing to attend one of the town's biggest social events of the year. When Reece's stepmother, Nora, is found dead right before the ceremony, Skylar asks her friend and landlord, Theodora Murphy, to help her find out what happened. Well-versed in family dysfunction, Theo begins her investigation thinking nothing can surprise her, but she soon realizes that the Mackey family all had each other's backs ... and that a few of them carried very sharp knives.
