A sample cross section is modeled; the sample input and results given may be used to check the operation of the model when implementing it for the first time. Appendixes document the program and describe two useful auxiliary programs.by a partial differential equation, called Richards' equation, and associated initial and boundary conditions. Solution of a steady-state version of Richards' equation in two dimensions requires only boundary condi tions and is approximated by the model presented here.
