Publisher's Synopsis
The coastal environment is continually affected by human activity, with problems aggravated seasonally in tourist areas. The need for alternatives to traditional methods of direct marine disposal is now apparent. The conference in Montpelier was held to clarify problems and find optimal soltions based on case studies, laboratory research or test plants. Various aspects of marine pollution such as eutrophication phenomena, health risks, shellfish production, disinfection techniques and the potential forms of reuse were considered.
