Publisher's Synopsis

This publication provides guidelines on educational standards as well as a framework for establishing a quality assurance system. It is organized in two parts: Part A provides recommendations for good educational practices that would enable medical schools in the Western Pacific Region to not only meet the international standards at a basic level in each broad area but also to develop further the quality of their programs in line with international consensus about best practice. In part B of the Regional guidelines, a framework is provided for establishing a quality assurance system at national, sub-regional or regional levels.
