This first book in a 3-volume series of vocabulary texts is designed to serve as a supplement to any developmental reading text or as a main text for vocabulary enrichment courses. The first eight chapters present high-frequency words, and the last two cover idioms. Each chapter offers a wealth of exercises and self-tests to improve general vocabulary and the use of idiomatic expressions. Students benefit by working through the entire series of texts, but each book can be used independently as well.
