Oral pathology is a basic science that provides an insight into the disease processes affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, which is very essential for their proper diagnosis and management. The subject is very vast and seems voluminous at the undergraduate level. The standard textbooks available for the subject are comprehensive and basically do not intend to prepare an undergraduate student for taking university examinations. Viva voce is an essential part of the examination pattern in the majority of health universities and, due to lack of proper guidance, the students are not well prepared to face this section of the examination. This prompted us to come out with this concise manual, whose prime focus is on training undergraduate students to appear confidently for viva voce in oral pathology. The manual, at the same time, also provides all the essential information in a question-answer format that will be helpful for preparing for theory examination. The book has been scripted in a simple and easy-to-assimilate language. Oral pathology is an ever-expanding field with new information being added to our existing knowledge on regular basis. We have taken utmost care to include the most authentic and up-to-date information in this manual. In spite of this, if there are any errors, it is our humble request to the readers to bring them to our notice, so that they can be rectified in the future editions.
