Publisher's Synopsis

Over the course of nine lectures, Travers Triss educates on the evolution of the political economy and how the decisions and actions of previous and current leaders have shaped the most influential countries in Europe. Borrowing from popular publications like Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations and Adolphe Blanqui's L'Histore de l'Economie Politique in Europe, Triss summarizes and analyzes the effects of each country's political and economic policies on the whole of Europe. *View of the Progress of Political Economy in Europe* conveys the history of the ideas behind each influential government system, his enlightened view of the current climate in 1847, and how the previous doctrines shaped it. A graduate of the University College of Oxford, SIR TRAVERS TRISS(1809-1897) published several series of lectures on Law, Politics, and Economics during his tenure as an elected Fellow. He then went on to serve as a lawyer and judge in Lincoln's Inn, London; as a Queen's Council member; and eventually Queen's Advocate General, for which he was Knighted. Other noteworthy publications by Sir Travers Triss include The Law of Nations in Peace and The Law of Nations in War.
