Anatomy is the foundation of medicine. Rapid development in diagnostic imaging such as ultrasound, CT and MRI necessitates early and thorough training of veterinary medical students, who are now required in their preclinical studies to familiarize themselves not only with radiographs but also with sectional imaging.
