This publication accompanies the exhibition Venice Design running alongside the Biennale di Venezia 2019.Venice Design 2019 is the second exhibition organised by the European Cultural Centre, which has not only included around 60 designers from more than 30 countries, but also 42 designers who live and work in Venice itself.Venice Design intends to discover cutting-edge design concepts, as well as creative solutions for daily life uses and consumption patterns. Practices involving new technologies are presented next to tributes to tradition and craftsmanship by highlighting the conception and production processes of the projects.In an engaging and creative environment, the visitor plays a central role by becoming the protagonist and by interacting with the pieces. Physically engaged, the visitor is stimulated to think of important contemporary themes such as our well-being, our production systems, and our means of communication.Featured designers are Farah Abdelhamid (EGY), acoocooro (MEX), Alexander Lorenz (AUT), BC Biermann (USA), Jungmo Yang (KOR), Hangto Zhou (CHN), and many others.
