With the consciousness of neglect came an ac knowledgement of the obligation to the century that had passed, and a proper appreciation of the value of its teachings. Gradually there sprang up a feeling of reverence for the Past, stimulating the inquiry: How can the omissions be supplied This newly aroused sentiment.
