A. I cannot answer that question, Mr. Maynard, for the reason that it was understood between counsel and client at the time of the settlement that nothing should be said with reference to the amount. I feel that that is privileged, and I have never stated what it was, nor will I until I am compelled to, but I feel that if I should state it that I would be violating an obligation that I took with my brother lawyers and in the presence of the respective clients.
