Publisher's Synopsis

This is my tutorial containing my approach to understanding statistics. Be aware that it's freely available online as a PDF if you don't necessarily want to buy a copy! It's not a stand-alone introductory textbook, but it does try to provide a grasp of the foundations and address common difficulties. I emphasize the use of programming simulations to build concrete understanding of abstract concepts. It assumes you have Python installed and the ability to write simple programs in it. I think it might be useful for students with a more than average interest in the materials to read alongside undergraduate modules, and for researchers grappling with debates surrounding null hypothesis significance testing. It's sprinkled with exciting opinions too, just to spice it up.
