This book has two novels, each about a "royal" dog, a King and a Prince. These two novels are for people lovers, dog lovers, and lovers of cozy mysteries. King was big and protective of his new owner, Skippy, a dog trainer at the Riverview Animal Shelter (RAS). Prince and King became an anti-crime team when they saw something very wrong at the RAS. Readers will enjoy the personal stories that accompany the plot. They will learn about dog training and managing a small business, such as the RAS. Most significantly, they will absorb the dog-training philosophy of Helen Bemis, emphasizing love and not coercion, an approach she has used for years as a successful dog trainer.
