Publisher's Synopsis
This book is addressed to all who have any power to improve dysphasic people's and their carer's quality of life, whether as policymakers, professionals, service managers, volunteers, friends, casual contacts, carers or sufferers. To this end the book aims to increase both awareness of and knowledge about dysphasia, by analyzing the disorder itself and by describing some of its implications. It also aims to stimulate informed debate on service provision issues and thus is concerned with the services designed to aid language recovery, most notably speech therapy.
