Excerpt from Under Two Queens: Lyrics Written for the Tercentenary Festival of the Founding of Uppingham School
The following Lyrics were written to be set to music as a festival Cantata, which it is intended to perform this summer at Uppingham School among other Tercentenary ceremonies. With the neces sary exception of the Dedicatory verses, the Epi logue, and a few stanzas elsewhere, they have been so set by the Author's friend and colleague, Herr Paul David. They are here published separately, in the hope that for a certain circle of readers they may have, apart from their setting, some value also of their own.
