Suzy and her Alpaca friend, Suri, are happy to have Uncle Thaxter back home from the war. They do all they can to make him feel welcome. However, Uncle Thaxter has changed a lot. At first these changes do not change Suzi's love for her uncle but, Uncle Thaxter doesn't make loving him easy because one of the big, big changes is that he refuses to talk to anyone, not even his dear, dear niece, Suzy.
