Stacey was raised in the secluded mountains of Pennsylvania. At the age of 17, she was placed in a government program. This program would allow her to begin her college education. Upon arrival, she struggled with not having her family supporting her. She met a young man. He promised to protect her. Instead, he date raped her. Her innocence, being a virgin, and her grounded Christian beliefs confused her and she decided to remain in the relationship. In this relationship, she would endure continued rape and beatings. One day, a visit with her parents, forced her to tell the truth about her enduring rape and beatings. Unchained tells a story of a woman that has built an innate resilience and tenacity to pursue her dreams. Along this journey she realizes that she looks out for others before she looks out for herself. To become unchained from co-dependency, she learns to cope and unravel the dysfunction of relationships that were keeping her from achieving her dreams and aspirations.
