Publisher's Synopsis
In 2036, the Socialist have control of the Congress, Senate and Presidency. Because of massive cutbacks, Jerry Riggins, Jim Talbot, Charlie Nelson and Gabe Bracken didn't get invited to re-up in the Army. After spending over a month in New York City and not finding jobs, the four men decide to sell everything, buy a van and weapons to go on the road. Jim's brother, Bill works for the CIA and informs him that the FBI are going out to confiscate weapons. After making two 'hits', the men decide to go to their parent's house's and visit. On their way to Alabama, Gabe has a fatal accident. The three left to continue on their quest to visit small town America and tell the townsfolk about the coming confiscation. After many nights sleeping in barns, they stop in the small town of Salem, Kentucky where they meet Brandi Baker. Jerry falls for Brandi and promises to come back after the other two men get home.They spend a week at Charlie's parent's, fixing things around the house. Charlie stays to look for a job.Jerry and Jim head for Illinois, where they both come from. After dropping Jim off at Farmersville, Jerry continues to Curran, Illinois, just west of Springfield. Before Jerry can leave, he has some trouble to take care of.Jerry finally returns to Kentucky where he marries Brandi. After the honeymoon, Jerry finds out the Army is going to re-instate him. The Armed Services are going to attempt a coup. He has to go back to Illinois where he is assigned to Chicago. After closing many drug houses, Jerry gets injured. He has to rehab in Illinois. While home, he has another problem he has to take care of. After many months of rehab, Jerry finally gets to go home to Brandi only to find out he has another problem to take care of.Will Jerry have to continue taking care of problems? Will Brandi ever find out, or can he have a normal life?
