Publisher's Synopsis
This is my initial foray into the genre of written expression formulated into a book. The subject matter deals with a particular aspect of Christianity which pits the truth of God's Word against the false representations being presented today. This book is the byproduct of my Master of Arts Thesis in Biblical Studies titled: Two Gospels; One the Total Truth, the Other a Total Deception. Having been exposed to both the truth of scriptures and the false teachings that are prevalent today I felt compelled to write this book. Jesus as well as the apostles warned the church to be aware of the false teachers and preachers who will lead the flock astray. The very idea that God wants us to live the good life is anathema to what our Christian faith is about. The false doctrine, known as the Word of Faith or Word Faith movement that says divine health, wealth and prosperity is a right that God bestows upon his children. His children are those who accept Jesus Christ as savior. The very notion that Bible-believing Christians could fall for such a smoke and mirrors illusion is beyond the pale. Upon reading this book the reader will find, what one could consider, a fair and balanced approach to this subject. The men and women who live the life style of the rich and famous are referred to as "pimp daddies," charlatans, hustlers, shysters among other things in the community at large. This book will expose these people for what they are, enemies of Jesus Christ. My close examination of this subject allowed me to frame my book in such a way that it can be construed as a scholarly work and yet be understood by a high school student. My research, aside from my fifteen (15) years working as a volunteer in two Word of Faith/Word Faith/Name it and claim it/ divine health, wealth and prosperity ministries includes the Bible, books, articles, interviews, talking to deacons and elders as well as pastors. Of the four or five books I purchased to use as research on this subject only one, A Different Gospel, authored by D. R. McConnell, approached this issue the way I did. The main difference being his approach is looking from the outside in while mine is mostly experienced based. Let there be no doubt that his work is superior to mine in so far as the scope of the problem/s presented by this damnable false gospel that is being promulgated on the church today. I was sure to separate the true shepherds from the false prophets which Jesus warns us would come to us in sheep%u2019s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves, (Matthew 7:15).
