Publisher's Synopsis

Hennessy 'Henny' O'Brien is the librarian in the small town of Kettle Knob, North Carolina. She's a little worried about the library's loss of funding. The current mayor, former high school football hero coach Ivan 'Van' Eriksson is suggesting that they should shut it down and merge their resources with the neighboring town. Van Erikson is confident he will win retain his role in the next election for mayor. Unfortunately, he has a new thorn in his side, who goes by the name Henny. As the Kettle Knob librarian contests him at every turn, Van is reminded of the brainy senior from back in the day, and this time he is determined to show her that he's not as brainless as she thinks. Can they discover together that a detour can be the path to true love?
