The English language volume provides an overview of the developments in the field of historical education in the successor states of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Moldova from the mid-1990s to the present day An encouraging but also contradictory transformation process. In addition, the role of educational actors and institutions operating internationally in the region is examined. Under what conditions and with which means reforms and interventions in the field of education can have a lasting effect, in which direction historical narratives develop -- the volume tries to answer these and similar questions. From an interdisciplinary perspective, it allows insights into the complex transformations of the education sector in Southeast Europe.
