Publisher's Synopsis
As a young child, Helen suffered abuse while living with her troubled parents. An elderly couple, Leroy and Abigail, made attempts to spare Helen from the violence, but when tragedy struck, Helen was placed with child services. Years later, Abigail discovered Helen was not in the custody of family; she had been placed in a facility for the mentally challenged, and they adopted her. When they passed away, Helen inherited their farm; however, she was unable to stay alone with her young son. They were moved to a home in California where they lived for thirteen years. Now, Helen is experiencing an emotional transformation. Arrangements have been made for her to return to the farm. "I'm finally going home," she whispers, "but I won't be living alone. I'm taking my loved ones with me."
