Publisher's Synopsis
Crossing boundaries between disciplines, research fields, and epistemologies has long been considered a promising way to get to grips with real-world problems. First formulated in the early 1960s in pedagogy and natural sciences, principles of transdisciplinarity have always been at the core of applied linguistics. In this volume of the AILA Review, we combine five complementary articles on transdisciplinary research with two critical position papers. The collection serves as a starting point for an AILA online debate on transdisciplinarity in applied linguistics and provides inspiration for those interested in collaborating with practitioners when doing research.
